Hadn't really planned on going again this year, my 5th Wintergrass Festival. I'm not overly fond of Bellevue and its highly pretentious environ....but it is bluegrass and the music draws its own crowd. Young and old, players, listeners and dancers. Artists on stage say every year that they love this little festival because there just aren't many winter festivals for musicians to get together and jam.
Crooked Still, a very young group, very talented!
The Boxcars
Darrell Scott, the first time I saw this guy was at Rocky Mountain Folks Fest 2003, he has written many fine songs for other voices.
OH! The Red Stick Ramblers! Cajun yaya yall! These photos are a bit blurry, sorry just couldn't leave them out. I think this was my favorite show, they are a Cajun Music and Western Swing Band very lively and true.
damn!
then there are the folks in the hallways & stairwells that make this hootnany special...
a small place for cloggin'
and the bluegrass babies!
at the end of the night, we saw legendary newgrass guy Sam Bush, as always he was amazing. No unfuzzy shots of him either....multi stringed and animated.
